2024-2025 Travel Tryouts Registration

Registration is now OPEN for the 2024 - 2025 Travel Team

TRAVEL TRYOUT DATES FOR THE 24-25 SEASON!

OPEN GYM (intended for travel players grades 5-8) Wednesday September 11th from 6:30 - 8:00 Location: CHS  Field House Courts 3 and 4

*Please have your daughter enter and exit through Door 14. One of our Blast Board Members will be there to open the doors for you.

TRYOUTS: Monday September 16th and Thursday September 19th (minimum of 1 session; both sessions are recommended)

  • 5th and 6th grade: 6:00-7:15pm Location: CHS Field House Courts 3 and 4
  • 7th and 8th grade: 7:30 - 8:45pm location Location: CHS Field House Courts 3 and 4

Travel team roster selections will be made by September 22nd with practices to begin the week of September 30th. 

Please contact Matt Peterson you are unable to attend the tryout dates to make alternate arrangements.

Travel Team Info

  • Travel teams will participate in the Schaumburg Saturday League beginning in early November thru Mid February.  
    • Games will be played on Saturdays between 8am-2pm each week
  • Teams will typically practice 2 times per week for 1.5-2 hours
    • Practices for 7th and 8th graders will be adjusted during their Middle School season (in January and February)
  • Teams will participate in approximately 4-5 local one day tournaments

Coaching clinics

Central's Girls Varsity Basketball Coach, Mike Carani, will be offering coaching clinics to anyone interested in coaching for the Blast.  Travel team coaches clinic will be held in October, and Rec team coaching clinic will be held in December/January (times and dates will be announced soon).

REC LEAGUE REGISTRACTION WILL BE OPENING SOON!

Rec Info 2024-2025 Season

  • Rec season for girls in grades 3-6 will run from the first week in January thru mid March. 
  • Practices will begin in December and will be held at the Central HS Fieldhouse (or one of the grade schools if there is a conflict) during weeknights, depending on the coach's schedule. 
  • Games will be held on Saturdays and played at Prairie View Grade School. 
  • Parent coaches are needed for all levels.  If interested in being a coach, please contact Matt Peterson.

*NEW* Spring Travel League!

We are excited to announce a new spring travel league for the Blast Program.  Girls will play for 5-weeks (April thru May) against other Fox Valley Schools. 

  • Location in previous years has been Dundee Crown.
  • Coaches for this league will be CHS basketball coaches

ACADEMY REGISTRATION WILL BE OPENING SOON!

Academy Information

  • The Academy is for girls in grades 1-2
  • Academy will begin in Mid January and will last 6 weeks
  • Sessions will be held on Sundays at HBT Grade School

 The Blast Orange for Lisa Night

  • When: TBA
  • Where:  Central High School Gym & Fieldhouse
  • Time: 4:30PM Girls JV
    •  6:00 PM Girls Varsity (Main Gym)
    •  7:00 PM Boys Varsity (Main Gym)
      • Burlington Blast players: please arrive by 5:00 pm to be able to be introduced with their team mates.
  • Why: To Recognize the Blast Program & to honor, and fundraise for the Blast / Lisa Pryor Scholarship Fund 
  • All Blast programs players will be introduced at the game

CONCESSIONS, SPIRIT WEAR, CAKE POPS WILL BE AVAILABLE. 

There will be a 50/50 Raffle and "Chuck - A - Duck" to help raise money for the Blast Program and the scholarship in Lisa Pryor's honor.

Our Mission

The Burlington Blast Girls Basketball Program is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt not for profit organization for Illinois School District 301.  The mission of the program is to teach, develop, and offer youth players the opportunity to learn fundamental skills and the game of basketball while instilling life-lessons and values such as character, team work, discipline, respect, and sportsmanship in a positive environment. 

The Burlington Blast Girls Basketball Program is a volunteer organization with an objective to build and increase a passion for basketball in the district through the successful operation of a model youth basketball program that emphasizes strong fundamentals, a positive learning environment, excellent instruction/coaching, equal and maximum opportunities, effective communication, and transparent administration. 

Together, our players, families and volunteers work with a relentless drive to cultivate a safe and disciplined environment so that every child can reach their full potential, develop their talents and increase their skills and knowledge within the game of basketball and more importantly… life.
